About The Finance and Accounting Department
The department has a diverse pool of faculty members with rich industry and academic experience. Faculty members of the department regularly publish research papers in reputed peer reviewed national and international journals, which are Scopus indexed and listed in ABDC. The major thrust areas in which research activities are being pursued are Corporate Finance, Market Microstructure, Asset Pricing, Capital Markets, Corporate governance, Behavioural Finance, Commodity Markets, Value Relevance of Accounting, Fintech, ESG, Cost and Management Accounting. During the past 4 years the department has achieved 4 A-Star, 30 A-category, 80 B-category and 120 C-category ABDC publications. The department also undertakes various consulting assignments and management development programmes, with the public and private sector corporate entities. The department also established a Bloomberg Lab with 12 terminals and has integrated its’ finance electives offerings to the data sets of Bloomberg. The department has also created a “Centre of Excellence in Banking and Finance”, over the years, under the able mentorship of the Honourable Chancellor, IFHE, Padma Vibhushan, Dr. C. Rangarajan, Former Governor of RBI. The centre is focussed on augmenting banking and finance practice in the SAARC region.
