CWD in association with Club Aaina and Free Pads for India distributed sanitary pads at Govt. Nehru Memorial High school. Free Pads for India (FPI) is a platform that creates awareness about;period shame; and;period poverty; by visiting slums and adopting menstruators through their free sanitary pads distribution drive. It started in March 2021, by 3 non menstruators. It has adopted 1306 menstruators till now and is currently active in Mumbai, Bangalore, Kanpur and Hyderabad. Guest for the event was Ms.Chandrika Manchella, a Computer-Science engineer with 19 years of experience. She had interacted with students from 6th standard to10th standard, explained about the precautions and safety measures to be followed during menstrual period. She also shared a few tips and motivated students on using sanitary pads.
Adolescent Girls in Odisha On February 23rd, 2024, the Center for Women Development (CWD), IFHE Hyderabad, in collaboration with the Indian Council of Social Science Research (ICSSR), organized a pivotal discourse titled “Management Practices and Associated Factors among Primary School Tribal Adolescent Girls in Odisha.” This significant event took place at the Big Conference Hall, IBS Hyderabad, from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM.The discourse was convened by Dr. Debajani Sahoo, Project Director from the Department of Marketing and Strategy at IBS Hyderabad, and Dr. Sushanta Kumar Mahapatra, Project Co-Director from the Department of Economics, Faculty of Social Sciences at IFHE, Hyderabad. It brought together esteemed panelists and experts to delve into critical issues surrounding menstrual hygiene management (MHM) among tribal adolescent girls in Odisha. Dr. Vijaya Lakshmi S, Registrar, IFHE Hyderabad, commenced the session with her introductory remarks on the subject and also moderated the session.

On September 8, 2023, IBS - LH 1 hosted an “Awareness Program on Adolescent Health Development” featuring Dr. Manasa Reddy, a renowned expert in Obstetrics and Gynecology and a consultant at Yello Clinic Diagnostics and Ankura Hospital.
Dr. Manasa Reddy’s presentation was both informative and engaging, covering a wide array of aspects related to adolescent health. These encompassed physical health, emotional well- being, and psychological resilience. Her talk underscored the critical significance of proper nutrition, personal hygiene, mental health awareness, and the fostering of open and empathetic communication between adolescents and their caregivers.The program offered an interactive platform for attendees to pose questions, seek guidance, and share their concerns regarding specific adolescent health issues. This participatory element enriched the event, facilitating a deeper understanding of the subject matter.

On October 15, 2023, the Center for Women’s Development (CWD) at IFHE Hyderabad organized the ‘Wall of Kindness’ event. Multiple collection booths were strategically placed across the campus to facilitate donations from the university community. Students and staff generously contributed items in good condition, including clothing, blankets, toys, books, and other essentials.
The primary purpose of the event was to support nearby orphanages and old-age homes by distributing the collected items. This initiative aimed to make a positive impact on the lives of those less fortunate within the community.

The IFHE Hyderabad community actively participated in the ‘Wall of Kindness,’ showcasing compassion and generosity. The success of the event can be attributed to the collective efforts of individuals from diverse backgrounds coming together for a common cause.
Every small act of kindness played a crucial role in ensuring the event’s overall success. The collected items, ranging from clothing to essentials, will undoubtedly bring comfort and happiness to the beneficiaries in nearby orphanages and old-age homes. This initiative not only demonstrated the spirit of empathy within the campus community but also highlighted the university’s commitment to social responsibility and community service.

On the 9th of February 2024, the Center for Women Development (CWD) at IFHE Hyderabad orchestrated a significant event focused on Health and Hygiene. The event, held at Govt High School, Tangaturu Shankarpalle, and Govt High School, Poddatur Shankarapalle, targeted girl students ranging from 6th to 10th standard. The primary objective of the event was to equip these young girls with knowledge concerning crucial aspects of health and hygiene, addressing the lack of awareness prevalent in their demographic. The event comprised various activities and sessions aimed at achieving its goals. Health education workshops were conducted, featuring speakers from CWD team who delved into topics such as nutrition, physical activity, and mental well-being. These sessions aimed to provide the girls with a comprehensive understanding of maintaining good health. Additionally, specialized sessions focused on personal hygiene, covering areas such as handwashing, dental care, and menstrual hygiene. Practical demonstrations and informative videos were utilized to enhance the engagement and effectiveness of these sessions.
One notable aspect of the event was the inclusion of interactive Q&A sessions, encouraging students to actively participate by posing questions and sharing their concerns. This interactive approach facilitated a more personalized learning experience, addressing the specific needs and queries of the students. As a practical initiative, hygiene kits containing essential items like sanitary napkins were distributed to all participating students. This step aimed to ensure that the knowledge gained during the event could be immediately translated into practical actions. The participation in the event was commendable, with enthusiastic involvement from the girl students of Govt High School, Tangaturu Shankarpalle, and Govt High School, Poddatur Shankarapalle. The engagement level was high, with students actively taking part in discussions and activities. The impact of the Health and Hygiene event was palpable as the students gained valuable insights into maintaining a healthy lifestyle and appreciated the practical tips provided. The distribution of hygiene kits further contributed to the immediate application of the knowledge gained.


An impactful community outreach initiative was conducted by Club Aaina and the Centre for Women’s Development (CWD) on 23rd December 2024 at Zilla Parishad Unnatha Pathshala, Kodakal, Shankarpally Mandal, Telangana. The event, guided by the school’s principal, Ms. Jeevan Jyothi, exemplifies IBS Hyderabad’s dedication to fostering social responsibility and advancing student welfare.
The initiative was led by Mrs. Vijaya Lakshmi, Registrar of IBS Hyderabad, Mr. Anjana Mata, Associate Dean of Student Services, FST, and Mr. P. Murli Dharan, along with the devoted members of Club Aaina. Their efforts were marked by a series of insightful and motivational speeches. The Registrar and faculty members addressed the students on the importance of self-care, nutrition, and self-motivation as key pillars for personal and academic growth. These inspiring messages encouraged the students to embrace healthy lifestyle practices and empowered them to face challenges with confidence.
On October 29, the Aksharabhyas Program, in collaboration with the Paritantra Club, organized an annual event titled ‘Vidyadhan: The Book Donation Drive’ aimed at supporting underprivileged students in nearby Zilla Parishad High Schools (ZPHS). The initiative, rooted in the commitment to education and empowerment, sought to provide essential academic resources to students who may lack access to necessary study materials. The ‘Vidyadhan: The Book Donation Drive’ proved to be a significant effort in fostering an environment of academic encouragement and support for underprivileged students.

ISArch students conducted the documentation of Saidani Ma Tomb, Ranigunj on 28th October 2024. This exercise was organized by Prof. Sai Akhila B and conducted by Dr. Joyce Supriya.


ICFAI Law School, in collaboration with the Centre for Women Development (CWD), IFHE, organized a Nukkad Natak (street play) on November 7, 2024. The program aimed to raise awareness among students and the local community about critical issues such as rape, sexual assault, female foeticide, voyeurism, stalking, domestic violence, marital rape, workplace harassment, ragging, and other crimes against women. Performed by students of ICFAI Law School, the Nukkad Natak explored the emotional, social, and legal dimensions of these crimes. It emphasized the role of bystanders, the importance of consent, and practical steps towards prevention. The initiative also sought to educate the audience on preventive measures, available support systems, and legal rights, fostering a safer and more respectful environment.
The program’s success was attributed to the support of Prof. L.S. Ganesh, Vice Chancellor of IFHE; Prof. S. Vijalakshmi, Registrar of IFHE; V. Madhusudhan Rao, Joint Registrar of IFHE; Prof. P. Ravisekhararaju, Director, ICFAI Law School; Dr. P.L. Jayanthi Reddy, Faculty Member of ICFAI Law School; and Mrs. Sunitha and Mr. Sampath from She Teams, Gachibowli and Narsinghi respectively, as well as Mr. Koteshwar Rao from Mokila Police Station. The efforts of student coordinators of ICFAI Law School, Shreya and Sumedha, along with the team from the Centre for Women Development, were instrumental in making the event a grand success.
