“Center for Women Development was Inaugurated on January 22nd, 2014. The Chief Guest for the function was Dr. Suvarna, Special Commissioner (watersheds) Government of Andhra Pradesh. The Guest of Honor for the Program was Ms. Vanitha Datla, CFO & Executive Director, Elico Ltd. and Mr.& Mrs. P.Sanjay Ram. Prof.J. Mahender Reddy, Vice-Chancellor, presided over the event, in the presence of Smt. Shobha, our co-founder.”

  • To create a vibrant ecosystem for dialogue, research, and innovation on women’s issues through seminars, conclaves, and international conferences.
  • To promote academic excellence and social impact by publishing research articles, books, and a quarterly e-magazine focused on women's development.
  • To collaborate with national and international organizations, NGOs, industry, and government bodies to design and implement meaningful programs for women empowerment.
  • To engage with students, faculty, and the broader community in awareness, outreach, and capacity-building initiatives aimed at creating a more inclusive and equitable society.
  • To serve as a platform for mentoring, inspiring, and supporting women to take leadership roles in various walks of life.”
Objective

Objectives of CWD

  1. Organization of national and international conferences, seminars, and conclaves on women-centric themes.
  2. Publication of research articles and books on women's empowerment and development.
  3. Launch of a quarterly e-magazine featuring real stories, insights, and research on gender and development.
  4. Collaborations with NGOs, industry, government, and global organizations for awareness and action.
  5. Conducting awareness programs, workshops, and outreach activities in nearby villages and urban communities.
  6. Encouraging student and faculty participation in gender-related projects, internships, and initiatives.
  7. Promoting policy advocacy and educational programs for women within the institution and beyond.”
