Prof. (Dr.)S. Vijayalakshmi has had a distinguished academic career, with over 32 years of experience in the fields of Accounting and Finance. She completed her Bachelor’s Degree in Commerce in 1984, followed by her Master’s in Commerce in 1986, and earned a Doctorate in Commerce and Management in 1994 from Andhra University.

Before joining the ICFAI Foundation for Higher Education (IFHE), Hyderabad, she worked for 8 years in various business schools, including the Dr. NS Kolla School of Business. In 2001, she joined ICFAI as a Faculty Member in the Department of Accounting and Finance, and over the years, her career advanced. She was promoted to Associate Professor in 2009, Professor in 2014, and served as the Area Head between 2012 and 2014. She also held the position of Dean, Academics, at IBS (A constituent of IFHE) from 2014 to 2016. In 2017, she was appointed as the Registrar of IFHE, where she continues to serve.

Her expertise spans various levels of education, having taught courses to undergraduate, graduate, Executive MBA, and Ph.D. students. Prof. Vijayalakshmi has published nearly 30 research articles in reputable journals and presented her work at both national and international conferences. She has also guided numerous PG and Ph.D. students in the fields of Finance and Management and has contributed case studies on Finance, available through the Case Centre, UK.

In addition to her academic achievements, Prof. Vijayalakshmi has demonstrated a deep commitment to women's studies and development. She chairs the Centre for Women Development at IFHE and has been actively involved in projects focused on women’s safety, senior citizens, gender issues, and the digital divide. Her work in health, wellness, hygiene, and cyber crimes has made significant impacts. She was awarded the “Women in Education Award” in 2016 and 2019 by the Business School Affaire & Dewang Mehta National Education Awards, in recognition of her outstanding contributions to education and leadership.

Prof. Vijayalakshmi has also visited several prestigious international universities and institutions, including Carnegie Mellon University, University of Pittsburgh, and Argonne National Laboratory in the USA, for academic and research opportunities. She is an active member of various university committees, such as the Board of Studies, Academic Council, and Finance Committee, and has contributed to the university's development through her roles in IQAC and Executive Council.

Her leadership, research, and dedication to education have earned her respect in the academic community, and she continues to shape the future of education at IFHE.
