MAFIA is the only official student-led governance body that operates at the intersection of Food, Discipline, and Dining Operations across all programs ofIFHEUniversity from undergraduate to postgraduate and beyond. WHAT WE DO?

MAFIA isn 't just a mess committee. We're a 24x7 operations, strategy, and student-welfare engine. We work closely with the college administration, vendor partners, and facilities teams to deliver a high-quality, hygienic, and student- first dining experience.

Our Core Responsibilities Include:

We are responsible for the end-to-end oversight of our two primary food partners who manage the main dining halls. This involves managing the distinct operations of:

VENDOR AND OPERATIONS MANAGEMENT:

Our responsibilities for both vendors include performance reviews and strategic menu planning.

STUDENT REFRESHMENT SERVICES:

Bru Cafe: Serves as the campus's primary destination for coffee, beverages, and a selection of snack items, providing a dedicated space for the community to connect and recharge. Our oversight ensures consistent quality, strict adherence to hygiene protocols, and fair pricing, maintaining it as a trusted daily destination.

Tickles: Operates as the official night cafeteria, catering to student needs after regular dining hours. MAFIA's comprehensive supervision of its operational hours, food quality, and hygiene standards guarantees it remains a safe, reliable, and convenient late-night option for the campus community.

We enforce a zero-tolerance policy on all matters of food safety and hygiene. Our comprehensive protocol is designed to ensure the well-being of our community and includes Food & Facility Audits like conducting daily audits of food preparation and taste and surprise inspections of all kitchens and dining halls to ensure strict compliance. Overseeing the continuous monitoring of drinking water quality across campus to ensure it consistently meets safety and portability standards

QUALITY & HYGIENE PROTOCOL:

MESS ALLOCATION & DIETARY ACCOMMODATIONS:

We oversee the formal process for student mess changes and coordinate directly with our vendors to provide for specific dietary needs, such as Jain and sick meals. This service is central to our commitment to providing a flexible, inclusive, and responsive dining experience for every student.

We act as the central coordinator for all food operations during campus events, from large-scale festivals and convocations to special monthly treats. Our role is to ensure seamless, high-quality catering that enhances the experience of every major occasion, including welcome dinners, food fests, farewell ceremonies, and more events.

HANDLING COMPLAINTS & STUDENT FEEDBACK CHANNELS:

We manage all student feedback and complaints through dedicated channels, ensuring every concern is logged, investigated, and addressed systematically. Our process guarantees a timely response and leverages student input to drive continuous improvements in food quality, hygiene, and service across all dining operations.

We are responsible for establishing and enforcing the protocols that govern student conduct within all dining facilities. This includes maintaining discipline, upholding strict hygiene standards, and managing entry procedures to ensure our dining halls remain safe, orderly, and respectful environments for everyone.
