Aparajitha Undergraduate Club Inaugurated at IFHE to Promote Inclusive and Interdisciplinary Student Engagement

Hyderabad, 04 September 2026: The Aparajitha Undergraduate Club, an official student club under the Centre for Women Development (CWD) at ICFAI Foundation for Higher Education (IFHE), was formally inaugurated on 04 September 2026 with the objective of creating an inclusive and interdisciplinary platform for student engagement, awareness, and social responsibility.

The event was organized under the leadership of Prof. Dr. S. Vijayalakshmi, Registrar, IFHE, in collaboration with the Aparajitha Team. Madam Smt. N. Sobharani Yasaswy, Chairperson, ICFAI Society, graced the occasion as the Chief Guest.

Aparajitha has been conceptualized as an interdisciplinary and inclusive platform that brings together students from different schools, disciplines, and academic backgrounds across IFHE. The club seeks to encourage students to interact, exchange perspectives, collaborate on meaningful initiatives, and contribute to building a safer, healthier, and more equitable campus community.

The club is founded on six core pillars—Dhairya (Courage), Vijaya (Victory), Abhaya (Fearlessness), Vidya (Education), Arogya (Health), and Samata (Equality). Through these principles, Aparajitha will undertake a range of activities including awareness programmes, workshops, campaigns, outreach initiatives, and student-led social engagement programmes.

The programme commenced with a welcome address by Ms. Chinmayi, a student member from the Faculty of Science and Technology. In her introductory remarks, Dr. S. Vijayalakshmi, Registrar, IFHE, introduced the faculty coordinators representing the various schools and highlighted the achievements of the Women 5.0 Conference. She also announced the forthcoming Women 6.0 Conference, scheduled to be held in December 2026.

Dr. Vijayalakshmi outlined several forthcoming initiatives of the CWD and Aparajitha, including rural cancer awareness programmes, Management Development Programmes (MDPs), self-financing initiatives, and student contributions to the CWD newsletter, Sobha.

The club was formally inaugurated by Madam Smt. N. Sobharani Yasaswy and Dr. S. Vijayalakshmi. Dr. Mahendra H. Sonawane, Principal, ISArch, addressed the gathering, while student representatives from ICFAI Tech, ISArch, ISOSS, and Club Aaina, the CWD postgraduate club, shared their perspectives and extended their support to the new initiative.

Addressing the gathering, Madam Smt. N. Sobharani Yasaswy emphasized the importance of empowering young people through education, courage, health, equality, and collective responsibility. Her address highlighted the role of students in contributing to a more inclusive and socially conscious society. She was subsequently felicitated by the gathering.

The inauguration was attended by approximately 60 student members from Club Aparajitha, Club Aaina, and Club Nazaria, along with faculty members and members of the administrative team. The event concluded with a vote of thanks by Ms. Benita.

The organizers expressed their gratitude to the Chief Guest Madam Smt. N. Sobharani Yasaswy and Registrar Dr. S. Vijayalakshmi for their guidance and support, and to Dr. Mahendra H. Sonawane, faculty coordinators Dr. Kalaa Chenji, Dr. V. Padmavathi, Dr. T. Neha, and Dr. Priya S. Natesh, administrative team members Mr. P. Muralidharan, Ms. K. Sathyavathi, and Joint Registrar Mr. V. Madhusudhan Rao, as well as Club Aaina and Club Nazaria, for their valuable contributions.

The inauguration of Aparajitha marks a significant step towards strengthening interdisciplinary student participation and inclusivity at IFHE. The club is envisioned as a dynamic platform through which students from diverse academic backgrounds can come together, collaborate, and contribute to initiatives promoting safety, equality, education, health, courage, and fearlessness.
