Admission Modalities

BBA-LLB (Hons.) / BA-LLB (Hons.) / BAJ-LLB (Hons.) - Eligibility

  • Pass in Class XII or equivalent with an aggregate of 50% and above marks in single attempt (any discipline) in English medium
  • Class XII (or equivalent) students who appeared for their final examinations before July 01, 2024 and awaiting results are also eligible to apply
  • Should have qualified in ILSAT 2024 conducted by ICFAI Law School, Hyderabad

Age

Applicants should not be more than 21 years of age as on the day of commencement of the Semester I i.e., July 31, 2024. However, the changes if any made to age limit by the BCI from time to time will be followed. Date of birth as recorded in the Secondary School Certificate will be taken as authentic.

ICFAI Law School Admission Test (ILSAT 2024)

Admission Procedure for applicants applying for ILSAT 2024:

Applicants seeking admission in to BBA-LLB (Hons.) / BA-LLB (Hons.) / BAJ-LLB (Hons.) programs need to appear and qualify in the ICFAI Law School Admission Test (ILSAT 2024) being conducted by The ICFAI Foundation for Higher Education (IFHE), Hyderabad.

For Class XII students awaiting final examination results, provisional admission will be given. The admission of such applicants will, however, remain provisional until final mark sheets establishing their eligibility are submitted. The last date for submitting the proof of Class XII (or equivalent) mark sheet is September 01, 2024, failing which the provisional admission will automatically stand cancelled.

ILSAT 2024 is an aptitude test conducted on Computer Based test (CBT) format.

How to Apply: Applicants interested in appearing for ILSAT 2024 can apply by any one of the following methods.

(a) Online Application
Applicants can apply online by filling up the Application Form available at www.ifheindia.org/fol and make payment of ₹ 1,000 towards the cost using Credit/ Debit Card (Visa/Master Card/Internet Banking) through secure internet payment gateway. Applicants applying online should upload their passport size color photograph while filling the Online Application. The Law Programs Prospectus will be sent to such applicants.

(b) Download Application Form
Alternatively, applicants can download the Application Form from www.ifheindia.org/fol and send it to the Admissions Office along with the Bank Demand Draft of ₹1,000 drawn on Scheduled Commercial Bank towards the cost of the application.

The Demand Draft should be drawn in favor of “IFHE-Prospectus Fee A/c ILSAT 2024” payable at Hyderabad. The Law Programs Prospectus will be sent to such applicants.

(c) Fill the Application Form
Applicants can fill-in the application form given on page 7 and send it to the Admissions Office.

Program Preference:
Candidates seeking admission into the BBA-LLB (Hons.) / BA-LLB (Hons.) / BAJ-LLB (Hons.) Program have to indicate preferred program in the application form.

LLM Program (Hybrid Learning)

The following are the admission modalities for admission into
1 year LLM Professional Program

  • Insolvency & Bankruptcy Law
  • Criminal Law
  • Mediation and Conflict resolution

Eligibility

  • Graduation in Five Year Integrated / Three Year Law or equivalent Degree recognized by The Bar Council of India with a minimum of 50% Marks or equivalent CGPA.
  • Should have qualified in the ILSAT (PG) 2024 conducted by ICFAI Law School, IFHE, Hyderabad.
  • The candidate should have enrolled himself as an advocate for a period of at least one year and should have working experience minimum of 2 years in any law firm or corporate legal department.
  • The admission however, remain provisional until they produce mark sheets establishing their eligibility.
  • The last date for submitting the proof of eligibility is July 07, 2024, failing which the provisional admission will automatically stand cancelled.

Pattern of LLM Professionals Eligibility Test:

The eligibility test is of objective type with multiple choice questions covering the subjects of Constitutional Law, Indian Penal Code, Law of Torts, Corporate Law, Labour Law and Jurisprudence. Duration of the test is of 2 hours. The minimum marks for qualifying the LLM eligibility test shall be 50%.

How to Apply: Applicants interested in applying for the LLM Program can avail any one of the following methods:

(a) Online Application
Fill and submit the online Application Form available on www.ifheindia.org/fol, make a payment of ₹ 1,000 towards registration fee using credit card (Visa/Master Card/ Citibank Card) / Debit Card / Net Banking through the secure internet payment gateway.

(b) Download Application Form
Download the Application Form, available at www.ifheindia.org/fol, complete it, and send to the Admissions Office along with a Bank Demand Draft of ₹ 1,000 drawn on Scheduled Commercial Bank towards registration fee in favor of “IFHE - Prospectus Fee A/c ILSAT 2024” payable at Hyderabad. To such registered applicants (online) hard copy of the prospectus will be sent.

(c) Fill the Application Form

Selection Process: The selection for admission into the program is based on entrance test conducted at all India level and personal interview. Due weightage will be given to academic distinctions, achievements in sports and extra-curricular and co-curricular activities.

Provisional selection letters for admission will be issued to the selected applicants. The provisional admission is subject to payment of admission / program fee, and verification of testimonials.

If an applicant is found ineligible even after admission accorded into the program, his/her admission is liable to be cancelled without notice. All admissions will be subject to verification of facts from the original certificates/ documents of the students. The decision of the Admissions Committee regarding eligibility and admission of applicant shall be final.

LLM Program

The following are the admission modalities for admission into

  • One Year LLM Program in Corporate & Commercial Laws, Tax Laws, Dispute Resolution, Insolvency & Bankruptcy Law and Criminal Law offered in semester mode.

Eligibility

The applicants desirous to join the LLM Programs should have obtained the Graduation in Five Year / Three Year Law (BA-LLB / BBA-LLB / LLB) or any equivalent degree in Law with a minimum 50% aggregate marks or equivalent CGPA.

  • Should be qualified in the ICFAI Law School Admission Test for PG Programs 2024 conducted by ICFAI Law School, IFHE, Hyderabad.
  • The applicants appearing for final year examination and awaiting results may also apply for the Admission Test.
  • The admission however, remain provisional until they produce mark sheets establishing their eligibility.
  • The last date for submitting the proof of eligibility is July 07, 2024, failing which the provisional admission will automatically stand cancelled.

LL.M - Ph.D in Law

The ICFAI Law School offers full time research program (Ph.D) in Law

Full Time LLM-Ph.D. Program:

Candidates registered for full time research shall work and conduct research on a full time basis under a recognized research supervisor. The duration of Ph.D. course for a full time research scholar is four (4) years from the date of admission.

Eligibility for Full time Program

  • A student who has passed 5 year integrated Honours Law Program on a regular basis having minimum 75% aggregate or 7.5 / 10 CGPA or equivalent grade or point scale where ever grading system is followed.a
  • Two years Post graduate Law Program / one year LLM after 3 year LLB Law Program or 5 year integrated law program with at least 55% in aggregate.a

Duration of the Course:

  • Duration of the Course for the regular full time is 4 years including course work, teaching/ training program and PhD research work and maximum period will be 6 years from date of admission and maximum additional 2 years can be given through a process of re-registration and the total period of completion of PhD program should not exceed 8 years from the date of admission
  • Female PhD Scholars may be provided with maternity leave/ Child care leave up to 240 days in the entire duration of the PhD program.

Pattern of Ph.D. Eligibility Test:

  • The eligibility test is of objective type with multiple choice questions covering the subjects of Research Methodology, Constitutional Law, Indian Penal Code, Law of Torts, Corporate Law, Labour Law and Jurisprudence. Duration of the test is of 2 hours. The minimum marks for qualifying the Ph.D. eligibility test shall be 50%.
  • The candidates who are qualified in UGC-JRF/ NET or SLET are exempted from appearing Ph.D. eligibility test

Ph.D. Admission Interview:

Candidates who have qualified in the Ph.D. eligibility test shall be called for Ph.D. Admission Interview. After the Ph.D. Admission Interview the list of eligible candidates for registration for full time Ph.D. program will be finalized.

Ph.D. Program in Law:

The ICFAI Law School offers both full time and part time research program (Ph.D) in Law

Full Time Ph.D. Program

Candidates registered for full time research shall work and conduct research on a full time basis under a recognized research supervisor. The duration of Ph.D. course for a full time research scholar is four (4) years from the date of admission.

Part Time Ph.D. Program

Candidates registered as part time research scholars shall work and conduct research for four (4) years under a recognized supervisor. Candidates seeking admission as part time research scholars have to submit no objection certificate from the employer to pursue Ph.D. Course and also during summer term for attending classes of Ph.D. course work conducted in the first two years of the program.

Eligibility

  • A candidate is eligible for admission into Ph.D. program both full time/part time if he/she obtained not less than 55% marks at the Post Graduate Degree in Law in regular study mode from a recognized University.

  • The following candidates who satisfy the eligibility criteria are eligible for admission into part time Ph.D. Program:

  • Regular teachers working in University Law Colleges or affiliated Law Colleges with a minimum of three years continuous teaching experience.
  • Practicing Advocates with a minimum of 5 years professional experience.
  • Judicial Officers with a minimum of 5 years experience. Retired Judicial Officers are also eligible to pursue Ph.D. Program in Law.
  • Any Gazetted Officer with a minimum of 8 years of administrative experience.
  • Any Executive with a minimum of 10 years of administrative experience in any recognized Law Firm/ Tax Consultants/ Public or Private Limited Company/ Company Secretaries/ LLP.

Ph.D. Eligibility Test:

Admission into Ph.D. full time/ part time program in Law shall be through Ph.D. eligibility test followed by Ph.D. admission interview. All the candidates who satisfy the eligibility criteria shall appear for the Ph.D. eligibility test. The candidates who are qualified in UGC-JRF/NET or SLET are exempted from appearing Ph.D. eligibility test.

Certificate Courses in Law

The following are the admission modalities for admission into Certificate Courses in Cyber Laws, Law of Financial Services and Immigration Laws.

Pass in 10 + 2 of any discipline or equivalent recognized by the respective Boards. The applicants appearing for final year examination and awaiting results may also apply for the Admission Test.

  • The admission however, remain provisional until they produce mark sheets establishing their eligibility.
  • The last date for submitting the proof of eligibility is February 02, 2024, failing which the provisional admission will automatically stand cancelled.

Eligible applicants are required to apply for the program.
